Post Production: Colour Grading & Correction
Color grading is the art of altering the colour, contrast, white balance and hues of a movie. It ensures that the movie "has the right feel". Colour correction, a similar process, has the goal of making sure there is consistent and appropriate colour, brightness and contrast throughout the movie.

Colour Grading to Create the Mood
There are many colour related variables that can be altered in a movie to change the mood and emotional impact of the scenes, a few of which are listed below:
- White Balance
- Contrast
- Colour Saturation
- Hues
- Black Levels
- Film look effects such as:
- Smoothing skin textures
- Making it look like old film footage
- Black & White and sepia effects
- Vignetting etc
